All games for the Nintendo 64 that will appear in the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service will run at a frequency of 60 Hz. Information about this was confirmed by the Nintendo of Europe division.

The original PAL versions of games for the Nintendo 64 console ran slower than the same projects in the NTSC region (50 Hz vs. 60 Hz), and often had borders at the top and bottom of the screen. Now European gamers will avoid this problem.

"All Nintendo 64 games included in the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will be launched in English-language versions with a frequency of 60 Hz. In the case of some titles, it will also be possible to play the original European PAL versions with the language setting option."

In the Nintendo Switch Online subscription, games with the Nintendo 64 will appear at the end of October. To access them, users will need to register a new type of membership called Expansion Pack, which will also open access to 16-bit classics from the SEGA Mega Drive. The cost of the service has not yet been disclosed.

The launch line of N64 games for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack includes Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64, Yoshi's Story, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Mario Tennis, Dr Mario 64, Sin & Punishment and WinBack.

Later, other projects with Nintendo 64 will appear in the service, including Banjo-kazooie, Paper Mario, Pokémon Snap, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Mario Golf and F-Zero X.
