World of Tanks releases on Steam
Wargaming has decided to host the popular World of Tanks on the Steam platform during this year.
However, as it turned out, transferring an existing account to the version for Steam will not work - only new users can get there. As Wargaming explains, many years ago, it did not expect that World of Tanks accounts would need multiplatform, and now it turned out to be too difficult to screw it up.
However, the servers on the PC are shared: players in the Steam client will fight side by side with players in the standalone client.
The content on Steam will repeat the familiar version of World of Tanks: over 600 units of military equipment, PvP, clans, leaderboards, customization, and so on. Translations into different languages will also remain available.
There is no specific release date for World of Tanks for Steam yet, but is expected in 2021. Wargaming previously released World of Warships and World of Tanks Blitz on Steam. Both have received positive reviews from players and have a very active user base on the platform.
