The action of the upcoming series takes place 200 years before the events described in the series of novels "A Song of Ice and Fire", on which "Game of Thrones" is based. The story centers on the Targaryen royal family and the events leading up to the civil war known as the "Dance of the Dragons".
The cast of the series includes: Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Sonya Mizuno, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Evans and Olivia Cooke.
The first of the ten episodes of the series "House of the Dragon" will be released on HBO Max sometime in 2022.
