CD Projekt has fallen victim to a cyber attack, and the studio's projects are under threat
CD Projekt announced that internal network was under cyber attack. The attackers collected company data, encrypted servers, and left a threatening note.
Both already released projects and those planned for release, as well as internal documents of the company, are under threat.
CD Projekt published the contents of the note.
However, according to CD Projekt, in fact, only a part of the devices in the company's network are encrypted, and backups really exist and with their help the infrastructure is already being restored.
As far as CD Projekt is aware, the leaked archives did not contain any personal data of the players and users of the studio's services.
CD Projekt is not going to follow the lead of the cybercriminals and will not negotiate with them, since leaked archives can get on the Internet in any case.
The Polish company has already contacted the relevant law enforcement and IT security specialists to conduct a thorough investigation.
