Head of FromSoftware Hidetaka Miyazaki: Elden Ring graphics team (Strained) because of Demon's Souls for PS5
The head of studio From Software Hidetaka Miyazaki told editorial board of EDGE magazine about how Demon's Souls for PS5 influenced development of Elden Ring.
The game designer noted that the release of the remake put the developers in an awkward position.
The creation of Bluepoint has become one of the most praised projects of 2020. In particular, the game received positive reviews for its visual effects, which, in the opinion of many, set a hard-to-reach bar in the field of image manufacturability of console projects of a new generation.
Miyazaki is sure that the Elden Ring graphics team has "strained" a lot because of Demon's Souls for PS5. The specialists felt the additional pressure the most, and it concerned not only the new game, but also other projects that FromSoftware does.
At the same time, Miyazaki noted that he did not play the remake because he did not want to "revise his own creations." The manager stressed that this is not due to the fact that he does not like Demon's Souls for PS5, he just does not want to return to the games he did in the past.
The release of Elden Ring is expected on February 25, 2022. The game will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Recently, the American agency ESRB issued Elden Ring an age rating of "M", according to which the game is allowed to be played by persons aged 17 years and older.
