It Takes Two became the record holder for the number of titles (game of year)

Forbes has calculated the number of awards that gaming publications have awarded to the games of 2021.

Forbes named the top ten most frequently encountered projects in the first places. And in the first place in this list was the game It Takes Two by Yusef Fares and Hazelight Studio. It was named Game of the year 47 times.

The leader is closely followed by Resident Evil Village, and Deathloop is noticeably behind both of them. In the list, the results are calculated, including separately: the choice of gaming publications and the result of the vote of their readers.

  1. It Takes Two — 47 awards (9 of them are readers' choice);
  2. Resident Evil Village — 40 awards (17 - readers' choice);
  3. Deathloop — 26 awards (2 - readers' choice);
  4. Forza Horizon 5 - 22 awards (7 - Readers' Choice);
  5. Metroid Dread — 21 awards (1 - Readers' Choice);
  6. Halo Infinite — 19 awards (5 - readers' choice);
  7. Returnal — 15 awards (1 - readers' choice);
  8. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart — 14 awards (1 - Readers' Choice);
  9. Psychonauts 2 - 10 awards;
  10. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy — 8 awards.
