Microsoft plans to create its own 3D metaverse with Minecraft, Halo trying to keep up with Mark Zuckerberg ideas.

Recall that it was decided to rename the latter to Meta and continue to develop it within the framework of the so-called "metaverse", which includes elements of virtual and augmented reality.

Microsoft, in turn, announced Mesh for Teams for collaboration and meetings in mixed reality in the form of digital avatars. It is expected that the deployment of the solution in the form of a preliminary version will begin in the first half of 2022.

During the Microsoft Ignite 2021 conference on creating a metaverse, the head of the company Satya Nadella said that he would primarily focus on corporate clients. However, it will not be limited to office applications. In a subsequent interview with Bloomberg TV, Nadala noted that Microsoft is going to move into its own metaverse in entertainment applications and games from Xbox.

Moreover, the head of the company believes that some of them are already separate metaverses.

"If you take Halo, it's a metaverse, Minecraft is the same as Flight Simulator. Now they are kind of two-dimensional, the question is whether they can be transferred to a full-fledged three-dimensional world, and we absolutely plan to do this."
