The U.S. National Board of review has chosen the best film of 2020
According to the official website, it was a film called "Da 5 Bloods," which was directed by Spike Lee. The latter also won the award for best director of the year.
Their contributions in key roles were recognized in the Best Actor category.
Riz Ahmed (“The Sound of Metal”) and Carey Mulligan (“Promising Young Woman”) won the award for lead roles. Pixar's “Soul” was named Best Animated Feature. Chadwick Boseman, who starred in the drama “Ma Rainey's Black Bottom,” was posthumously awarded a special award in the “Icon” category.
The National Council of Film Critics is one of the most influential associations in the American film industry. It exists for over 100 years.
Previously the film “Da 5 Bloods” was among the ten best films of the year according to the American Film Institute. It was also a contender for the Critics Choice Super Awards. It is likely that the new work of Spike Lee will become a major contender for major film awards, including the American Academy Award.
