NVIDIA has reduced the mining efficiency of the RTX 3060 but has announced a line of professional mining products
Graphics cards are used not only for gaming, but also for mining cryptocurrency. NVIDIA has unveiled a solution to the problem of graphics card shortage for gamers.
The supplies are now generally not sufficient. Miners add to the problem by buying all graphics cards from stores, so it becomes very difficult for gamers to get new hardware.
First step: The company will make the GeForce RTX 3060, which launches February 25, less attractive to crypto miners. Hash rate - mining efficiency, will be halved at the software level. This will not affect gaming performance.
Second step: NVIDIA announced CMP (Cryptocurrency Mining Processor), a line of mining products (low core voltage and frequency). It cannot be used for gaming, the CMP does not even have displayport.
The company wants to create individual products for every customer.
CMPs will be sold through NVIDIA partners.
