The long-awaited trailer for the upcoming film adaptation of Mortal Kombat has previously leaked online. Now we can enjoy the Official Restricted Trailer.
Mortal Kombat, produced by Todd Garner and James Wan, begins with a crucial piece of lore from the original games.
The plot centers on MMA fighter Cole Young, a brand new character who has never been part of the video games. Outworld Emperor Shang Tsung sends his best warrior, Sub-Zero, to hunt down Cole. Fearing for the safety of his family, Young sets out to find Sonya Blade with the help of Special Forces Major Jax, who has the same dragon mark on his body as the protagonist.
Cole in the temple of Lord Raiden will train with experienced warriors Liu Kang and Kung Lao, as well as with the mercenary Kano. Together, the best fighters on Earth will fight the enemies from Outworld.
