Squid Game streamer suffers because of the popularity of the Korean TV series
The streamer under the nickname Squid Game is experiencing huge stresses due to the popularity of the Korean TV series.

Lydia Ellery, whose Twitch channel has over 40,000 followers, told about this in an interview with the BBC.

According to the streamer, who has been using a nickname similar to the name of the series for 11 years, after the release of the "Squid Game", offensive comments from fans who believe that she stole the account of a Korean TV project began to be sent to her en masse. Because of this, she had to turn off notifications on her Instagram account.

However, as it turned out, this was only the beginning of a black streak in the girl's streaming career. Later, Lydia's Instagram was completely blocked, as she believes, due to countless attempts by random users to log into her account, as well as sending complaints about her. In addition to this, according to her, she was twice refused a job because of a nickname that evokes associations with a violent show.

"It looks like I'm going to have to change my nickname after all. I've lost two amazing job opportunities because people don't want to hire me with my "squid game." It really upsets me," the girl complains. "First they insult me, then they ban me, and now I'm losing my job."

Nevertheless, at the moment Lydia's Instagram account has been restored, but her nickname Squid Gaming can still cause confusion among netizens trying to find her on social platforms, which is why she is seriously considering changing her virtual nickname.

"If you're looking for me and my brand, which I've had for over 10 years... all you'll find is a TV series."

Explaining the reason for choosing such a nickname more than 10 years ago, the streamer said that the word "Squid" rhymes with a friendly address to her in the name "Lead".
