The place of action of Payday 3 will be New York — the developers have presented the concept art of the game
Swedish studio Overkill in honor of celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Payday series shared details of the third part of the franchise.
During the anniversary broadcast, it became known that the story will unfold a few years after the events of the sequel, and the scene will be a "lively and large-scale" New York.
The main characters will be old acquaintances: Dallas, Wolf, Hoxton and Cheynes, who decided to retire. Since then, the world has moved into the digital age - it is ruled by software giants, cryptocurrency, ubiquitous surveillance and the Darknet are in use. The changed environment will play a key role and affect the available gadgets. In addition, the gang's activities will be covered by the press, although it is unknown how this will affect the gameplay.
Payday 3 is scheduled for release on PCs and consoles in 2023. The publisher is a division of Koch Media called Prime Matter.
