The detailed position of the Ukrainian studio was presented in a "transparent" press release, which was later deleted.

This week, GSC Game World announced the launch of the "metaverse" S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. In addition, sales of NFT tokens will begin in early February. However, the players reacted negatively to the news.

As indicated in the latest statement of the studio, Heart of Chernobyl is published by GSC Game World itself, although it has several partners. The funds received through the sale of NFT tokens will make it easier to develop and make the final product even better.

In January 2022, in-game characters will be available for purchase, which will receive the appearance of buyers. However, these models allegedly will not be used in plot tasks.

In the future, Ukrainians will purchase the following NFT tokens: nicknames (to be used on bulletin boards, walls, and so on), collectible cards (to be sold exclusively on the DMarket platform and will not be integrated into the shooter), as well as gloves / badges / tattoos / skins for multiplayer. The latter will be available after the release of the main game (as a free update)

"We have tried to be as honest with you as possible," the statement says.

The absurdity lies in the fact that a little later the published press release was deleted for an unknown reason. But, editors "Uniongames.net" managed to save it.

This was followed by an official statement from the developers

The management of the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World refused to place NFT tokens as part of the creation of a "metaverse" based on the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl. The official statement was made immediately after the removal of the press release in defense of the initiative from social networks.

As the developers explained, the decision was made based on negative feedback from the gaming community and fans. As a result, the studio "heard" people.

"Respecting the interests of our fans and players is a top priority for the team. We are creating a game that you will enjoy - regardless of the price," the statement reads.
