Metro of the new generation: Announcement of the improved version of Metro Exodus on PC and details of the game for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
Publisher Deep Silver and studio 4A Games have announced an improved version of Metro: Exodus.

Like the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game, which are due out later in 2021, users who already have Metro: Exodus on PC will get the Enhanced Edition for free.

Thus, according to the developers, the update was so extensive that for the game to Enhanced Edition users will need a video card that supports ray tracing as the minimum specifications, and the reissue will be released not just a patch to the base game, and as a standalone product with all access rights for all current owners.

Among the features of Metro: Exodus-Enhanced Edition from the game already released on the PC, the authors call advanced ray tracing capabilities, including improved reflections, and support for DLSS 2.0 on NVIDIA RTX video cards, which will increase the image detail, increase the frame rate and screen resolution.

In addition to this, 4A Games has shared fresh details about the Metro: Exodus port for the current generation of consoles.

On the new consoles in the "Exodus" will be the implementation of global and radiated lighting technologies with ray tracing, first used in the expansion "Two Colonels" on the PC. Also among the improvements announced are reduced download times, 4K / 60 FPS, ultra-high-resolution texture packs, and a number of features specific to each of the two platforms, including improved input latency and spatial audio support on the Xbox Series X, as well as the use of tactile features of DualSense on the PlayStation 5.

Separately, it was noted that the version for the Xbox Series S will work in 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second, while retaining all the other advantages mentioned above, including ray tracing.

All the improvements that will get Metro: Exodus on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series:

In parallel, 4A Games is developing Metro 4.
