New exclusive PlayStation 5: Destruction AllStars tested for speed
The Destruction AllStars multiplayer Battle Arena race released today is already available for download on PlayStation 5 if you have an account with a valid PS Plus subscription.
The VGTech channel was among the first to get acquainted with the new Sony exclusive and published its technical analysis of the game. It was previously stated that the project will work in dynamic 4K, but now the exact resolution range has been clarified: depending on the load, the image can scale from 2304×1296 to 3264×1836, while the upper threshold is reportedly rarely reached. To increase the resolution when rendering with the original resolution below this value, a form of temporary frame reconstruction is used. The user interface is always displayed in native 4K.
In terms of speed, the game is focused on 60 FPS, but it is not possible to keep such a frame rate constantly. At times, the frame rate drops to 55-50 FPS, and during large batches, the FPS counter can drop down to 46. In general, there is nothing critical that cannot be fixed in future patches.
