The documentary series Power On: The Story of Xbox will reveal unique details about the birth and rise
Microsoft has announced the upcoming premiere of a documentary series about the birth and rise of the Xbox brand.
It was named Power On: The Story of Xbox ("Power On: The Story of Xbox") and will be released on December 13, 2021 for free viewing worldwide. The project was created as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Xbox.
"In December of this year, we invite you to look behind the scenes and learn the true story of the birth of Xbox and the subsequent 20-year journey. The documentary series Power On: The Story of Xbox, narrated by the team that lived this story, will take you to the origins of the creation of Xbox as a project of a small group of gamers from Microsoft," the description says.
Microsoft stressed that the series will tell not only about successes, but also about problematic moments from the history of Xbox. These include, for example, the episode with the "Red Ring of Death" from the Xbox 360 era. They promise to reveal "unique details".
The series will consist of six episodes. They will be released on several video platforms around the world, including Roku, IMDb TV, YouTube and Redbox.
