Oscar 2021: Andrei Konchalovsky's film is included in the long list
On January 28, the American Academy published a list of films for Oscar in three categories. The long list of animated feature films includes 27 works and 238 full-length documentaries.
In the international feature film category, 93 films are eligible for further voting, including the domestic drama “Dear Comrades!” Andrei Konchalovsky. Recall that this week the U.S. National Board of Film Critics named it one of the top five foreign films. It is also noted that for the first time films from Lesotho, Sudan and Suriname were included in the long list.

In addition, the Academy has included a picture of Andrei Khrzhanovsky “Nose, or the plot “not those” in the list of films nominated for Best Animated Feature Film.
The Academy defines an international film as a screen work of more than 40 minutes in length, produced outside the U.S. and containing more than 50 percent of the dialogue in a language other than English. From this year the short list of international films will be expanded: now it will include 15 works instead of 10, as it was before. Nominees will be announced on February 9.
